(VISUAL ARTS TRAIL OPENS ON 1ST SEPTEMBER AND FINISHES ON 9TH SEPTEMBER)
Video/Live-Art in which the participant responds to the movements of a spinning camera. Described as a game of ‘digital narcissism, heady sadism and running about in response to the question “How do you describe your practice?”:
My mode of working involves firstly observation, gathering materials, objects, ideas, creating something I may have to accept as overwhelming and then distilling from that effectively minimalist works. My intention is rarely to show the entire process: typically what emerge are short looping films or ritualistic performances presented in onjunction with selected collected objects. I am interested in the communicative flow between entities, between people too, mediated through things. So my work is undamentally observational but also about prodding or tickling in order to upset the equilibrium (I think).
