When Michael Sayers died in New York aged 98 in 2010 a newspaper obituary described him as “a writer whose career never recovered from being blacklisted in the United States”. How art and radical politics interacted to shape the long, varied and transatlantic career of this son of a Dublin Jewish businessman is the subject of this talk.
